/ Still Cinema
In an intimate, blackened space, a projector illuminates a drawing of a still from the popular tv-series ‘Twin Peaks’ (2017, David Lynch). The work is a result of research regarding the similarities and differences between the artwork and the cinematic screen as windows into other worlds. The piece also reflects on the way in which female characters are often victimized and eroticized within contemporary mainstream film and television, and from it arose the question whether repeating such graphic imagery through art helps to criticize, or if it reinforces the issue.
