/ Silver Screen
My practice is slowly persuading me towards working with the moving image. ‘Silver Screen’ portrays a stilled scene in the form of a drawing, over which ghostly fragments of the same movie (‘Alps’ 2011, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos) are projected. This work reflects on the relationship between the stilled image, and the moving one from which it came. As the projected film progresses from the frozen frame that is drawn underneath, its existence becomes fleeting in relation to its carrier.
